Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for the Emergency Department, requiring KY or compact RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications.

Details

  • Work in a hospital-based Emergency Department and Urgent Care setting
  • ED ratios range from 4:1 to 3:1, alternating post-discharge
  • UC ratios are 5:1 with flex coverage for critical patients
  • Treats general ED population including STEMIs and strokes, with critical patients transferred out
  • Uses EPIC EMR system
  • Evening shift schedule of 7a-7p or 3p-3a, 36 hours per week, 3 shifts per week
  • Weekend and holiday rotation required
  • New approximately 24,000 sq ft freestanding facility opening fall 2026 with on-site primary care

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
  • ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
  • No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
  • Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with care team members

Additional Information

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document in accordance with scope of practice and hospital policy
  • Coordinate patient care including admission, transfer, and discharge activities
  • Provide patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
  • Delegate tasks and oversee team members in patient care implementation
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures such as patient satisfaction, falls, and documentation audits
  • Promote a positive, healing environment through nursing excellence and evidence-based practice
