Emergency Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, preferably in an emergency department, emergency room, or other fast-paced acute care setting
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively during high-acuity and emergency situations
• Current life-support certifications required by the facility and applicable regulatory standards
• Willingness to work overnight shifts and fulfill the requirements of a travel nurse assignment

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and care for patients with a broad range of emergent and urgent medical conditions
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly to emergencies
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate timely treatment
• Document assessments, interventions, reassessments, and patient outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
• Provide clear patient education and emotional support to patients and their families
• Maintain a safe, organized, and patient-centered emergency care environment
