Experienced Emergency Department RN needed for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Asheville, North Carolina. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Specialty: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN / Emergency Room Nurse)

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,860-$1,960
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.
- Department: 101-bed Emergency Department
- Healthcare Setting: Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 for medical patients; up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Equipment: GE monitors and Baxter pumps
- Scheduling: Every other weekend required; scheduling is based on department needs, and block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- Floating: No floating outside the Emergency Department; flexibility to work throughout all areas of the department is required
- Uniform: Navy scrubs
Emergency Department RN Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in North Carolina
- At least 2 years of RN experience, including a minimum of 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
- Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume Emergency Department strongly preferred
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required before the start date
- ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
- Ability to provide compassionate, respectful care to a diverse, multicultural patient population
- Strong teamwork, communication, coaching, and real-time feedback skills
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department
- Commitment to patient experience standards, including keeping patients informed and maintaining updated care communication boards
Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate nursing care to Emergency Department patients with a wide range of medical and behavioral health needs
- Perform thorough assessments, prioritize care, monitor patient conditions, and respond promptly to changes in status
- Support emergency care delivery in a Level II trauma and comprehensive stroke environment
- Administer medications and treatments, operate monitoring equipment, and document care accurately in Cerner
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, clerks, and the broader interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Work across all Emergency Department areas as needed to support department operations
- Provide clear updates to patients and families throughout the visit while maintaining a respectful and inclusive care environment
- Demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a positive team-focused approach in a fast-paced emergency nursing setting
