Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN requiring 2+ years of specialty experience and an active IN or Compact RN license.

Details

  • Emergency Department setting providing care for a combined adult/pediatric patient population
  • May work across two facility locations
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Open to 3 or 4 12-hour shifts per week
  • Meditech charting experience preferred
  • Travel pairs accepted but must maintain flexible scheduling

Requirements

  • Active RN license (IN or Compact) required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of ED specialty experience required
  • Previous travel experience required
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care, and IV starts/maintenance
  • Experience with ventilated patients and respiratory care required
  • Experience with emergency medications; IV vasopressors and continuous IV sedation preferred
  • Experience managing CVA, psychiatric holds, drug overdose, and violent or suicidal patients required
  • Cardiac monitoring experience with dysrhythmia interpretation preferred
  • Triage and PPE/isolation precaution skills required
  • Orthopedic splinting skills preferred
  • Pediatric and UTI care experience required
  • One professional reference required from a direct supervisor within the last 12 months

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a combined adult/pediatric ER population, including triage, trauma stabilization, and psychiatric crisis management
  • Accepts local candidates at the same rate as travel candidates
  • Past permanent employees of the facility will not be accepted as travelers, no exceptions
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Upon accepting an assignment, candidates have 24 hours to complete required lab work for compliance
