Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a LA or compact RN license and prior ER experience.

Details

Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
Non-trauma Emergency Department with STEMI and Stroke certification
Patient ratio of 1:4
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30
Rotating weekend requirement
No on-call requirement
No floating requirement
Epic EMR experience required
Royal blue scrubs required

Requirements

Active LA or Compact RN license required
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (TNCC preferred)
Minimum 1 year of recent ER experience required
Epic charting experience required
Prior travel experience required
Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
Experience with emergency medications and IV vasopressors
Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
Experience with orthopedic and ortho trauma cases
Two recent manager references required
Experience with intubation, chest tube management, and central line care preferred
Experience with neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred
Experience with gunshot wound and shock/trauma cases preferred
Pediatric Emergency Department experience preferred

Additional Information

Provide emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric cases
Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
Administer and monitor procedural sedation
Perform triage and maintain infection control precautions
Locals within 75 miles accepted at local rate
Radius rule of 75 miles applies for travel rate eligibility
Former permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before being eligible to travel
First-time travelers are not considered for this position
