• Department Profile: High-volume emergency setting with approximately 52 beds and an average patient ratio of 3:1

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing and authorization to practice in Kansas
• At least 1 year of recent acute-care hospital emergency department or emergency room nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIH certifications
• Current CPI Blue Card certification
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, clinical judgment, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to remain composed and effective while caring for patients in a fast-paced emergency department
• Preferred: ENPC certification and prior Meditech experience
• Travel nursing experience in a large facility or high-volume emergency department is preferred

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and pediatric patients across the emergency care continuum
• Perform focused nursing assessments, support emergency department triage, complete reassessments, and promptly escalate changes in patient condition
• Initiate and maintain IV access and administer medications according to provider orders and department policy
• Assist with procedural sedation, emergency interventions, and pediatric emergency care
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and unit staff to coordinate timely patient care
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in the electronic medical record
• Use barcode medication scanning consistently for every medication administration
• Support a positive patient experience while efficiently managing competing priorities in a high-volume ED
