Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a Women's Emergency Department position in Austin, TX, requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and multiple advanced certifications.

Details

  • Work in a 14-bed Women's Emergency Department within a Level IV Maternal Designation academic teaching facility
  • Primary patient population includes non-OB women presenting to the ED, with collaboration alongside the main 30-bed ED for full scope care
  • Predominantly ESI 3/4/5 acuity patients
  • Role includes triage responsibilities in addition to bedside patient care
  • The main ED is a JCAHO Primary Heart Attack Center (STEMI Receiving), DNV Primary Stroke Center Plus, and Level IV Trauma Center, with ECMO, LVAD, advanced heart failure, and Level III NICU capabilities
  • Day shift hours: 09:00–21:00
  • 26-week contract
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

  • Active RN license in TX or a Compact state
  • Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC, NIHSS, NRP (AHA/AAP), and CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, 8-hour course)
  • Diploma or degree from an accredited nursing school
  • Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
  • Two professional references required
  • Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
  • Full SSN and full DOB required for consideration

  • Assess and monitor patient conditions, document changes, and communicate critical updates to the interdisciplinary team
  • Execute physician and nursing orders in compliance with regulatory and patient safety standards
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team on discharge planning and safe care transitions
