Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Information

Location: Thornton, CO

Unit: Emergency Department

Number of Beds: 40

Staffing: Approximately 65 team members including Registered Nurses, Paramedics, and EMTs.

Daily Structure

• Day Shift: 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC), 6 Registered Nurses (RNs), 1 EMT with additional mid-shift staff arriving at various times.
• Night Shift: 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC), 6 Registered Nurses (RNs), 1 EMT, and 1 Medic, with mid-shift staff departing at different intervals.

Patient Care

Patient Ratios: 4:1

Common Equipment: IV Pumps, EKG machines, Ultrasound machines, GE equipment.

Electronic Medical Records System: Meditech

Qualifications

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-year current acute care Emergency Department RN experience.
• BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Trauma Level 1 or Level 2 settings.
• Prior experience with Meditech.

Typical Procedures

• Rapid assessment, stabilization, and intervention of patients.
• Monitoring of vital signs and ECG readings.
