Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a 12-week assignment requiring at least one year of ER experience and current ACLS certification.

Details

  • Work in a hospital Emergency Department-Trauma unit
  • Care for patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma-related emergencies
  • 12-hour shifts from 12:00-00:30
  • 12-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Active TN or compact RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA required)
  • PALS certification may be required
  • TNCC certification may be preferred or required
  • Minimum 1 year of emergency department, critical care, or acute-care nursing experience preferred
  • Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • US Social Security Number and US home address required

Additional Information

  • Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and prioritize care based on severity and urgency
  • Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, and patient condition changes
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other ordered treatments
  • Assist with emergency procedures including CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care
  • Operate emergency equipment including cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and ventilators
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
  • COVID vaccination is not required
  • Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate
  • First-time travelers may be considered
