Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This position involves working in a dynamic emergency room environment, providing high-quality care to patients with acute medical needs. The role requires flexibility in assignments across different areas within the unit.

Unit Information

• Location: Tomball, TX
• Number of Beds: 24
• Staffing: 54 total staff members
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Type of Equipment: Level 1 trauma equipment, Lucas devices, Welch Allen vital sign machines, GE bedside monitors, EKG machines
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Meditech

Qualifications

• Required Certifications:
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • PALS or ENPC (one of the two is required)
• Preferred Certifications:
  • TNCC
  • ATCN/CEN Certification
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a related role

Key Responsibilities

• Perform acute care assessments and provide treatment to emergency room patients.
• Initiate IVs, collect blood samples, and administer blood transfusions.
• Administer medications and assist in the resuscitation of both adult and pediatric patients.
• Provide care for behavioral health patients and assist with intubations and restraint applications.
• Support splinting and moderate sedation procedures.

Additional Information

• Weekends: Availability for at least 2 weekends per month is required.
