Position Description

Location: Humble, TX

Unit Information

Number of Beds: 9
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 3 RNs
- Mid Shift: 1 RN/Tech
- Night Shift: 3 RNs
Patient Ratios: 4:1 based on acuity; 1:1 if necessary
Equipment:
- IV pumps
- POC lab machines (Sysmex XP 300, Piccolo, Alere, Clinitek, Sofia, EPOC, Novastat glucometer)
- MACVU360 EKG machine
EMR: Meditech Expanse

Essential Skills:

IV skills
EKG skills
Triage acuity training

Preferred Skills:

ENPC Certification
CPI Certification

Typical Procedures Performed

Onsite lab testing for flu, COVID, and strep swabs
IV placements
Foley catheter placements
Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
Moderate sedation

Personality Fit

The ideal candidate should be a team player and demonstrate flexibility with assignments.

Required Certifications

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
Basic Life Support (BLS)

Floating Areas

Possible rotation to main Emergency Room and other offsite Freestanding Emergency Rooms.

Dress Code

Royal blue scrubs are required.

Work Schedule

Weekend rotation required, including four weekend days per schedule.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of experience is preferred.
