Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Center position requiring TNCC certification and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Acute care Emergency Center setting seeing approximately 180-200 patient visits per day
  • Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric, including trauma, neuro, ortho, and CVA cases
  • 6-bed behavioral lockdown area staffed by psych for psychiatric/seclusion patients
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 to 4
  • Uses MEDITECH 6.15 EMR
  • Supported by charge nurse, 5-6 nurse aides/paramedics per shift, central monitoring tech, and dedicated 24/7 respiratory therapist
  • Security and patient sitters available, holding patients in main ER until admitted
  • Nurses perform own lab draws and start their own IVs
  • Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week guaranteed
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required

Requirements

  • Active GA or compact RN license required
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI certifications required
  • ASLS or NIHSS certification required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience required
  • At least 1 prior travel assignment required
  • MEDITECH EMR experience required
  • Driver's license address must be listed for consideration

Additional Information

  • Care for a wide range of ED patients including trauma, neuro, ortho, and CVA cases, with some patients stabilized and transferred to other facilities
  • 2-shift unit-specific orientation provided
  • Orientation-related tasks (ORT) must be completed during the first week of assignment
  • Caribbean Blue scrubs required
  • Auto lunch deductions apply
  • Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for placement
  • Not eligible for placement if previously employed by the facility within the last 12 months
