Description

American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a fast-paced night shift position requiring MD or compact RN license and 2 years of ER experience.

Details

• Emergency Department setting with 47 beds and an average daily census of 130
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Patient population spans all age ranges from infant to geriatric with complex and varied diagnoses
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30), with 36 or 48 hour options
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Floating required within specialty
• No pre-scheduled on-call requirements
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (Maryland or Compact) required at time of submission
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (AHA only)
• CPI certification required (Calm Every Storm online version only accepted online vendor)
• NIHSS certification required
• 2 years of ER experience required, though 1 year may be considered with strong skills
• Community hospital experience required
• Experience with pediatric and adult emergency care
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and emergency medication administration
• Experience managing psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis, overdose, and suicidal patients
• Triage experience required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of diagnoses including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric conditions
• Perform triage and manage patients presenting with time-sensitive and high-acuity conditions
• Support stroke and STEMI certified facility protocols
• Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments with no restrictions
• First-time travelers with strong ER experience will be considered
• Manager may consider a longer contract for candidates with strong experience
• Candidates residing under 50 miles from the facility are not accepted unless otherwise stated
