Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a night shift/every-other-weekend position requiring 2+ years of ED nursing experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

  • 65-bed pod-based Emergency Department with a separate pediatric pod and a separate Acute Mental Health area
  • All-age patient population with an average census of 230 visits/day
  • Clinician to patient ratio of 1:4
  • Uses EPIC (ASAP) EMR charting system
  • Night shift schedule (7:00pm-7:30am) with every other weekend required
  • Floating required to ED Observation, AMU, and ED Psych units
  • Occasional day rotation (7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a) may be requested, though rotation frequency is low and the night position itself does not rotate
  • 36 or 48 hour per week options available
  • 13-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required; pending or conditional licenses not accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA only)
  • TNCC and NRP certifications strongly preferred
  • Proficient in general ED nursing skills including assessment, documentation, IV insertion, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education
  • Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care across a high-volume, all-population Emergency Department
  • Free on-site parking available for this position
  • Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of the facility and will receive a reduced rate
  • Rate to your Time off (RTO) must be identified at time of consideration
  • Two professional references required
