Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ED RN for a night shift, every-other-weekend position requiring active MA RN licensure and 2+ years of emergency nursing experience.

Details

  • 65-bed, pod-based Emergency Department with a separate pediatric pod and Acute Mental Health area
  • All-population patient census averaging 230 visits per day
  • Clinician to patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift schedule (19:00-07:30) with every other weekend required
  • Option for 36 or 48 hour weekly schedules
  • Floating required to ED Observation, AMU, and ED Psych OB units
  • Occasional Day Rotate shifts (7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a) may be requested, though rotation frequency is low and night positions do not rotate
  • Uses Epic (ASAP module) for charting

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required; conditional or pending licenses not accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
  • Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • NRP and TNCC certifications strongly preferred
  • Skilled in patient assessment, documentation, IV therapy, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education
  • Primary source license verification required within 30 days of start and upon expiration via NURSYS and BON
  • Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care across all patient populations, including pediatric and acute mental health cases
  • Free on-site parking available
  • Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of the facility to be eligible for the standard travel rate
  • RTO must be identified prior to consideration
