Description

American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with 3+ years of experience for a 12-week assignment requiring prior travel experience and left-handed scanning ability.

Details

  • Adult acute care, adult outpatient, ICU, and emergency department settings
  • Performs adult echocardiography including 2-D and 3-D echo, bubble study, color Doppler, imaging with contrast agents, pharmacologic stress echo, TEE, and treadmill stress echo
  • Unit requires a left-handed scanner
  • Uses GE, Hitachi, Philips, Siemens, SonoSite, and Toshiba equipment along with PACS
  • Epic charting system required
  • Monday-Friday day shift, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
  • Every other weekend coverage required
  • No on-call requirements
  • May float within facility and scope of practice as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer
  • BLS required
  • RDCS or CCI RCS certification required; ARDMS and additional CCI RCS/RDCS credentials preferred
  • License required if applicable
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Epic experience required
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Simpson's Rule, diastology, LV strain/LV volume, and proximal isovelocity surface area calculations preferred

Additional Information

  • Performs comprehensive echocardiographic imaging and calculations to support cardiac diagnostics
  • In-person interview required prior to acceptance
  • Facility does not accept first-time travelers
  • Clinical screening required to determine fit before manager review
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized at time of submission
  • No RTO permitted during orientation week
  • If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment, coverage is required with no holiday RTO available
  • If three major holidays fall within the assignment, coverage of two is required with one holiday RTO possibly approved
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate for those within 50 miles
  • Candidates with prior Piedmont employment must be away for one full year before returning as a traveler
