We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse leader to serve as Director of Quality Services. This is a leadership position responsible for organizational quality, patient safety, performance improvement, risk management, regulatory compliance, and accreditation activities across multiple healthcare settings.
Schedule: 40 hours per week
The Director will work closely with executive leadership, medical staff, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to promote high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI), patient safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance programs
- Provide oversight for Quality Services, Infection Prevention, Case Management, Utilization Review, Social Services, Employee Health, and related programs
- Maintain organizational readiness for CMS, The Joint Commission, state regulatory agencies, and other accreditation/licensing requirements
- Monitor quality and patient-safety indicators and identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Develop and implement corrective action and performance improvement plans
- Lead or facilitate Root Cause Analyses (RCA)
- Develop and present quality dashboards, scorecards, and performance reports to leadership and governing bodies
- Support patient complaint and grievance processes and monitor trends affecting patient experience and safety
- Collaborate with medical staff on quality review activities, including OPPE and FPPE
- Provide education and guidance to leaders and staff regarding quality, patient safety, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards
- Supervise and support staff within assigned quality-related departments and programs
- Promote a culture of patient safety, accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current RN license or ability to obtain appropriate state licensure
- Minimum 2 years of professional nursing experience, preferably in an acute-care hospital
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience required
- Strong knowledge of healthcare quality, patient safety, performance improvement, risk management, regulatory compliance, and accreditation standards
- Knowledge and experience with CMS and The Joint Commission requirements
- Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field
- Previous hospital Quality Management/Quality Services leadership experience
- CPHQ or comparable healthcare quality certification
- Experience leading regulatory surveys, QAPI initiatives, Root Cause Analyses, and corrective action plans
Director of Quality Services/RN — 40 hrs/week leadership role overseeing QAPI, patient safety, risk management, regulatory compliance and accreditation; RN license + leadership experience required, with CMS/The Joint Commission and hospital quality experience strongly preferred.
