Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) position requiring 2 years of pediatric CVICU/PICU experience and an OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Pediatric CVICU/PICU setting caring for critically ill pediatric cardiac and respiratory patients
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
• 13-week assignment
• Scheduled every other weekend, subject to change based on RTO and unit needs
• Floating required to NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and Med-Surg units as needed

Requirements

• Active OH state or compact RN license required in hand
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years CVPICU or PICU experience required
• 2 years of pediatric hospital experience required
• Skilled in respiratory care including ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, tracheostomy care, ABG interpretation, and airway management
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with congenital heart disease/repair, hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and post cardiac surgery/catheterization care preferred
• ECMO and VAD (LVAD/RVAD) experience preferred
• CRRT experience preferred
• Experience with continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, and pediatric dosage calculations
• 2 supervisory references required, with at least one from a manager/supervisor titled reference

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric cardiovascular ICU patients, including ventilated and post-surgical cases
• Floating to other units is a strong point of emphasis and travelers must be prepared to comply with facility float expectations
• Must not have worked in a permanent role for this facility within the last 2 years
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 60-mile radius
• RTO must be submitted at time of application
