Registered Nurse - ICU | Travel |

Assignment Overview

Join our acute care team as a Registered Nurse in the ICU. This role requires an experienced and adaptable nurse proficient in cardiovascular intensive care. The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking skills and thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

Assignment Details

  • Unit Size: 20 beds, all private, all monitored
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, 2:1 depending on patient acuity
  • Shift: 12-hour nights (7p-7a)
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday)
  • Holiday Requirements: Every other
  • Floating: Expected to float to every level of care
  • Estimated gross weekly pay package: $3078 (negotiable)
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Trauma Level: 1

Responsibilities

  • Care for post-operative cardiovascular patients including CABG, valve replacements, and more
  • Manage care for high acuity patients with conditions like STEMI, unstable angina, and heart failure
  • Utilize advanced equipment such as IABPs, Impellas, ECMO, and pacemakers
  • Administer and titrate medication drips including dopamine, dobutamine, and propofol
  • Interpret and manage patient monitoring systems and telemetry

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current BLS certification (AHA)
  • Minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • ACLS certification
  • CCRN certification
