• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, with holiday coverage as needed
• Charting System: Epic experience required
• Floating: Required within skillset to all ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,470-$2,600
• Scrub Color: Navy blue

Job Requirements

• Active New Jersey RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required
• SICU experience may be considered if initial training in a CVICU was completed
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with fresh post-op cardiac cases including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
• Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax strongly preferred
• Comfort working with high-acuity adult and geriatric cardiac patients
• Ability to float flexibly within critical care and cardiac step-down environments

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, high-quality care to complex CVICU patients recovering from cardiac and thoracic procedures
• Monitor and manage hemodynamic status, vasoactive drips, sedation, and continuous IV therapies
• Care for patients with advanced devices and therapies including Impella, IABP, CRRT, temporary pacers, Swan-Ganz monitoring, and arterial lines
• Manage ventilated patients and support respiratory interventions including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABGs, suctioning, and ventilator care
• Perform and assist with post-operative open-heart recovery and chest tube management
• Interpret dysrhythmias, obtain and review 12-lead EKGs, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and other support services
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and uphold infection prevention and isolation protocols
• Support safe, timely care delivery in a unit where patient acuity and census may vary throughout the shift
