• Float Requirements: Must float within skill set to all ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units

• Orientation: 16 hours

Job Requirements

• Active New Jersey RN license or compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU experience required
• SICU experience may be considered if initial training in a CVICU was completed
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Strong experience with fresh post-op cardiac cases, including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
• Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax required
• Must be comfortable caring for ventilated patients and managing complex critical care therapies
• Ability to work holidays as needed based on unit requirements
• EPIC charting proficiency strongly preferred and required for consideration
• Must be able to work independently while remaining a collaborative team player

Responsibilities

• Provide expert cardiovascular critical care nursing for critically ill and post-surgical patients
• Monitor and manage patients recovering from open-heart and advanced cardiac procedures
• Administer and titrate vasoactive drips, sedatives, paralytics, and other critical IV medications
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, temporary pacers, and advanced monitoring equipment
• Support respiratory care needs including ventilator management, ABGs, suctioning, BiPAP/CPAP, and HFNC
• Care for patients receiving CRRT, post-op recovery support, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Assess, interpret, and respond to dysrhythmias, 12-lead EKGs, and evolving patient conditions
• Deliver safe, compassionate care in a high-acuity ICU environment with ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:2+
• Maintain infection prevention, isolation precautions, and high standards of patient safety
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
