American Traveler is hiring a CVICU RN for a night shift assignment at a Level I trauma teaching hospital, requiring CVICU experience and NextStage CVVH machine proficiency.

Details

  • Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
  • Patient ratio of 1:2-3
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 1900-0730
  • Every other weekend rotation required with some holiday coverage
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required as needed
  • Epic EMR experience required, within past 12 months preferred

Requirements

  • Active WI or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in CVICU specialty required
  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required
  • Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area preferred
  • Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to start, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and 80% or higher overall score
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration
  • Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and acute/chronic renal failure care preferred
  • Experience with IABP, Impella, TAVR, LVAD/RVAD, and post cardiac surgery care preferred
  • Travel healthcare experience required

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular surgical and cardiac intervention patients
  • Located at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked as Wisconsin's top hospital
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Holiday coverage required for select holidays
