ICU Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift | Columbus, Ohio

ICU Travel RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or a valid compact-state RN license in hand at the time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Intensive Care Unit or adult critical care experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from the American Heart Association
- EPIC electronic health record experience is required
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Strong experience with adult critical care, cardiac patients, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Flu vaccination required; medical exemptions may be considered
- Two professional references required, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
- Ability to complete required credentialing and Ohio fingerprinting promptly after accepting the assignment
ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients, including those with acute myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, decompensated heart failure, and post-interventional cardiac procedures
- Care for patients requiring ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, continuous IV sedation, and vasoactive or cardiac medication titration
- Manage and monitor advanced critical care therapies and equipment, including intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella devices, CRRT, pulmonary artery lines, arterial lines, and hemodynamic monitoring systems
- Interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases and obtain 12-lead EKGs as clinically indicated
- Perform central line, PICC line, IV, blood product, procedural sedation, and infection prevention care in accordance with clinical standards
- Recognize changes in patient condition and collaborate with physicians, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
- Maintain accurate patient documentation in EPIC and deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care throughout each shift
- Support patients requiring hypothermia protocols and specialized cardiac critical care interventions
