This 13-week travel nursing assignment is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ICU RN to care for complex cardiac patients in a collaborative environment supported by respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response, physical therapy, and other multidisciplinary services. ICU Travel Nurse Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940–$2,040

- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 12-hour night shifts
- Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.

- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Critical Care RN Job Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
- Current compact or Ohio Registered Nurse license in hand at the time of submission
- Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Recent experience documenting in Epic is required
- Proficiency starting and maintaining IVs, performing telemetry monitoring, and managing ventilators
- Experience caring for patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and critical care interventions
- Flu vaccination required; medical exemptions may be considered
- Two professional references required, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult cardiac patients in a high-acuity medical ICU
- Monitor and manage patients experiencing acute myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, decompensated heart failure, and post-cardiac intervention recovery
- Care for patients receiving ventilator support, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, continuous IV sedation, and vasoactive or cardiac infusions
- Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, pulmonary artery catheters, and other invasive monitoring equipment
- Support patients receiving IABP, Impella, CRRT/CVVHD, EKOS, hypothermia protocols, and other advanced therapies
- Interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases while obtaining 12-lead EKGs as indicated
- Administer blood products, emergency medications, IV insulin, and procedural sedation according to clinical protocols
- Recognize changes in patient condition and collaborate promptly with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic and uphold infection prevention and isolation precautions
- Participate in unit orientation, weekend coverage, and floating assignments when needed
