Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a CV Neuro ICU position requiring 2 years of experience, ACLS/BLS certification, and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in a 16-bed CV Neuro ICU with a 1:2 patient ratio
  • Night shift schedule (7p-7A, 12-hour shifts)
  • Patient population includes stroke, ICH, SAH, SDH, brain tumors, cerebral edema/increased ICP, and hydrocephalus cases
  • Also manages acute respiratory failure, sepsis/septic shock, ARDS, COPD/asthma exacerbations, and acute heart failure
  • Additional diagnoses include AKI, DKA, HHS, GI bleeding, acute liver failure, and severe electrolyte abnormalities
  • Titration of drips required including Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Phenylephrine, and Dopamine
  • Unit supported by two clinical techs for 16 patients
  • RT equipment includes mechanical ventilators, HFNC, and noninvasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP)
  • No tele/monitor techs on unit; RNs required to read their own telemetry strips
  • Telemetry monitors are Phillips brand

Requirements

  • Active RN license (VA or Compact) required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant ICU experience required
  • Must pass an ECG exam (pass/fail) on day 2 of assignment

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing for complex neuro and cardiovascular ICU patients
  • Manage titratable vasoactive drips and monitor high-acuity patients
  • Navy blue scrubs required
