Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CV Neuro ICU position requiring BLS, ACLS, and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

  • 16-bed CV Neuro ICU with a 1:2 patient ratio
  • Patient population includes stroke, ICH, SAH, SDH, brain tumors, cerebral edema/increased ICP, and hydrocephalus cases
  • Also manages acute respiratory failure, sepsis/septic shock, pneumonia, ARDS, COPD/asthma exacerbations, acute heart failure, AKI, DKA, HHS, GI bleeding, acute liver failure, and severe electrolyte abnormalities
  • Titrates drips including Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Vasopressin, Phenylephrine, and Dopamine
  • Two clinical techs support the unit for 16 patients
  • Utilizes mechanical ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and noninvasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP)
  • No dedicated tele/monitor techs on the unit; RNs must read their own telemetry strips using Phillips monitors
  • 12-hour shifts, rotating 7P and 7A schedule totaling 36 hours per week
  • 13-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Active RN license (VA or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant ICU experience required
  • Must pass an ECG exam (pass/fail) on day 2 of assignment

  • Provide critical care nursing to a complex neuro and cardiovascular ICU patient population
  • Navy blue scrubs required
