Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CV Neuro ICU position requiring BLS, ACLS, and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

16-bed CV Neuro ICU with a 1:2 patient ratio
Patient population includes stroke, ICH, SAH, SDH, brain tumors, cerebral edema/increased ICP, and hydrocephalus cases
Also manages acute respiratory failure, sepsis/septic shock, pneumonia, ARDS, COPD/asthma exacerbations, acute heart failure, AKI, DKA, HHS, GI bleeding, acute liver failure, and severe electrolyte abnormalities
Titrates drips including Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Vasopressin, Phenylephrine, and Dopamine
Two clinical techs support the unit for 16 patients
Utilizes mechanical ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and noninvasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP)
No dedicated tele/monitor techs on the unit; RNs must read their own telemetry strips using Phillips monitors
12-hour shifts, rotating 7P and 7A schedule totaling 36 hours per week
13-week assignment length

Requirements

Active RN license (VA or Compact) currently in hand
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of relevant ICU experience required
Must pass an ECG exam (pass/fail) on day 2 of assignment

Additional Information

Provide critical care nursing to a complex neuro and cardiovascular ICU patient population
Navy blue scrubs required
