Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Med/Surg unit requiring an active IL RN license and at least three years of relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Provides direct post-operative care to CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients on a Cardiovascular Med/Surg unit
• 12-hour day shifts scheduled 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, three days per week
• Weekend commitment of 5-6 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required on a department rotation basis
• May float to similar units as needed
• Uses Epic for charting and documentation

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
• BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma center experience required

Additional Information

• Responsible for a designated group of patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care
• Performs hourly rounding and maintains a clean, organized work environment
• Communicates and collaborates with the healthcare team, offering constructive feedback to peers
• Maintains up-to-date documentation and departmental competencies
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• RTO may not exceed 7 total days within the 13-week contract
• Returning contingent workers must take a 6-month break in service after 1 year on assignment before returning to this health system
