Job Details
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Graduation from an approved school of Radiologic Technology; current Massachusetts State Radiologic and CT Technologist license; registration in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent; 0+ years of experience in a radiology environment with at least one year in CT required
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Level 1 trauma settings and Siemens imaging systems
- Responsibilities:
- Operate CT equipment to produce diagnostic images adhering to departmental protocols
- Properly prepare and position patients, using protective shields and immobilization devices as needed
- Explain procedures to patients considering physical and emotional needs, maintaining professional conduct and patient confidentiality
- Calibrate, verify, and troubleshoot imaging equipment; report malfunctions
- Execute administrative tasks including scheduling, documentation, and image transfer to Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)
- Perform venipuncture for contrast administration under radiologist supervision and follow contrast policies
- Maintain equipment readiness, stock supplies, and participate in research, quality assurance, and quality improvement initiatives
- Provide on-call coverage, float among different departments and clinics, and adjust to flexible scheduling including weekends and overtime as required
- Oversee and instruct technical staff and students as needed
- Transport and transfer patients according to established procedures
- Use independent judgment and problem-solving skills in patient care and technical situations
