Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • Current Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist license and CT Technologist license
  • Registered in CT by ARRT, or equivalent certification
  • At least 1 year of CT technologist experience required; 2-3 years of radiologic technologist experience preferred
  • Level 1 trauma experience required
  • Siemens equipment experience required
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients under physical or emotional stress
  • Ability to apply analytical thinking to imaging processes, techniques, and cross-sectional anatomy
  • Ability to maintain compliance with required clinical documentation and departmental standards

Responsibilities

  • Operate CT scanner equipment to obtain diagnostic images according to departmental protocol
  • Prepare, position, and immobilize patients to ensure accurate and safe imaging
  • Select appropriate imaging factors and image the designated body areas
  • Explain exams to patients while supporting their physical and emotional needs
  • Perform venipuncture for contrast administration under radiologist direction
  • Calibrate and verify equipment functionality and report malfunctions as needed
  • Complete scheduling, exam documentation, and image transfer within the radiology information system and PACS
  • Transport and transfer patients using established departmental procedures
  • Float among radiology clinics and divisions as needed
  • Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement, and departmental research initiatives
  • Support on-call coverage, overtime needs, and flexible shift coverage when required
  • Maintain supplies, prepare equipment rooms, and keep the work area organized and ready for daily patient care
