Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring ARRT CT/R certification and Level I Trauma CT experience.

Details

  • Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital setting
  • CT Scan department with varied daily caseload per shift and location
  • 4x10 hour night shifts, Monday-Thursday, 8:30 PM-7:00 AM at the main campus
  • Holiday rotation required
  • No on-call requirements
  • May float within scope to sister facilities as needed
  • Uses Epic for charting, Siemens and PACS equipment, Sectra preferred
  • Performs abdomen/pelvis, chest, head/neck, spine, MSK, and cardiac/vascular CT studies
  • Special procedures may include biopsies, aspirations, drainage, brain perfusion, coronary CTA, and colonography

Requirements

  • ARRT (R)(CT) and BLS certification required
  • South Carolina RN license required at time of start; pending license not accepted
  • License required if applicable
  • Minimum 1 year CT experience preferred; 6 months Level I Trauma CT experience required
  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with Epic charting system required
  • PIV starting and Siemens CT equipment experience required
  • Skills in image display/post-processing including 3D rendering, MPR, and ROI measurement preferred
  • Proficiency in contrast media preparation/administration and radiation safety required
  • First-time travelers considered if they have relevant prior experience

Additional Information

  • Must attend all staff meetings
  • Radiation badge must be supplied by the traveler/agency, as the facility does not provide one
  • Scrub color requirement: teal top and black bottom
  • Parking pass available for a one-time $20 fee, with additional costs for nights and weekends
  • Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for manager approval
  • Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
  • Candidates residing within 60 miles are considered local
  • Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response duties
