  • Position: CVICU Registered Nurse
  • Employment Type: Travel RN

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
  • Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
  • Schedule: Evening/night schedule with every other weekend rotation and some holidays; no call
  • Start Date: 10/26/2026
  • Experience Level: 2 years of acute care experience in the specialty required
  • Charting System: Epic experience required

Job Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin or a compact state
  • 2 years of recent acute care experience in CVICU or a related critical care specialty
  • CVICU experience required
  • Experience with NextStage CVVH machine required
  • Trauma Level I experience required
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Ability to pass a telemetry exam prior to start
  • Experience with Epic charting strongly preferred
  • Strong critical care background with comfort caring for adult and geriatric patients
  • Travel nursing experience required

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert nursing care for cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgery patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
  • Monitor and manage patients recovering from CABG, valve repair/replacement, aneurysm repair, aortic dissection repair, and transplant-related procedures
  • Care for patients requiring advanced support devices and therapies, including CRRT, IABP, Impella, LVAD, and ECMO
  • Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, manage ventilators, and interpret dysrhythmias and ABGs
  • Support post-operative and medically complex patients with a patient-centered, team-oriented approach
  • Collaborate with charge nurses, rapid response support, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other disciplines to deliver safe, high-quality care
  • Float as needed within assignment guidelines and adapt to changing patient acuity throughout the shift
  • Participate in a unit environment that values clinical excellence, teamwork, and compassionate care
