  • Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts

  • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
  • Holidays: Some holidays required
  • Call: No call
  • Orientation: 24 hours
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Pre-Start Requirement: Telemetry exam required prior to clearance

Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin or a compact state
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
  • Current CVICU nursing experience required
  • Experience with NextStage CVVH machine required
  • Trauma Level I experience required
  • Prior travel nurse experience required
  • AHA BLS and ACLS required
  • Strong telemetry interpretation skills with successful pass/fail testing
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity cardiac ICU and cardiothoracic surgical environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Cardiovascular ICU
  • Monitor and manage patients recovering from CABG, valve repair/replacement, transplant, and other complex cardiothoracic procedures
  • Care for patients with advanced cardiac devices and therapies, including CVVH/CRRT, IABP, Impella, LVAD, ECMO, and Zoll Thermoguard support
  • Interpret dysrhythmias, obtain and analyze 12-lead ECGs, and respond appropriately to telemetry findings
  • Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips while maintaining a safe and stable patient environment
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional, patient-centered critical care
  • Assist with procedures, advanced line management, ventilator support, and intensive care interventions as needed
  • Adapt quickly to changing patient assignments and unit acuity while supporting a team-oriented culture
