• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: Evening/night shift with every other weekend rotation and some holidays; no call
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Unit Setting: High-acuity cardiac and thoracic care

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Wisconsin or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience in the specialty within the last 3 years
• CVICU experience required
• Experience with Epic charting required
• AHA BLS and ACLS required
• Telemetry testing required prior to start with strict passing criteria
• Experience with NextStage CVVH machine required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Strong critical thinking skills and confidence working in a fast-paced ICU environment

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to cardiothoracic surgery, transplant, and cardiac medical patients in a Cardiovascular ICU setting
• Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced cardiac support and ICU-level interventions
• Care for patients with CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic dissection, LVAD, heart/lung transplant, STEMI, NSTEMI, and cardiogenic shock
• Perform and support complex therapies including CRRT, IABP, Impella, ECMO, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips as ordered and respond quickly to rapidly changing patient conditions
• Collaborate with charge nurses, rapid response support, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Deliver compassionate, family-centered care while maintaining a calm and professional presence in a high-acuity unit
• Float as needed based on unit requirements
• Adhere to patient safety, infection prevention, and unit protocols at all times
