Description

American Traveler is seeking an ICU RN for a Critical Care Float role requiring a WI or compact RN license and academic Level I trauma center experience.

Details

  • Float pool position covering multiple ICU units such as Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery, along with IMC/Progressive/General care populations
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 1900-0730
  • Every other weekend and some holiday coverage required
  • Floating required as needed across various ICU units
  • Epic EMR system used

Requirements

  • Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only) required
  • NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
  • 5 years of overall nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
  • Experience in an academic Level I trauma center required
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
  • Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience with ECMO, IABP, Impella, and CVP monitoring
  • Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and IV insulin protocols
  • Skilled in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
  • Experience managing neuro patients including EVD, ICP monitoring, and stroke care
  • Must pass a telemetry certification exam prior to starting the assignment, with strict passing criteria for both adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties within an academic Level I trauma center
  • Work at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked the #1 hospital in Wisconsin
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Telemetry exam allows two attempts to pass; a third attempt requires completion of a cardiac interpretation review course
  • Travel experience in an academic Level I trauma center required
