Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position at a teaching hospital, requiring compact/OH licensure and ventilator management skills.

Details

• Critical Care Float Pool position within a teaching hospital's ICU service line
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Floats to multiple ICUs based on staffing needs and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs (MICU x2), Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, and NCCU
• Required to float only within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Required skills: IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support across multiple ICU specialties based on facility staffing needs
• Responsibilities include IV therapy, arterial and central line management, blood product administration, ventilator management, and cardiac drip titration
• Experience with CVA/stroke management, ICP monitoring, and post cardiac surgery care is valued
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract, as delays can impact start date
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as travelers at this health system
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Requested time off must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
