Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of experience in cardiac catheterization and device procedures for a diagnostic cardiac cath lab setting.

Details

  • Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab with 3 rooms and 5 beds
  • Adult to geriatric patient population
  • Average daily census of 8-10 patients
  • Patient diagnoses include diagnostic cath, PCI, orbital atherectomy, IABP, Impella, and device implants
  • No EP studies or ablations performed in this role
  • Uses GE Discovery, IABP, Impella, and CSI equipment
  • Epic EMR required, Pyxis and SBAR used, Merge preferred
  • 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • Every other weekend rotation unless otherwise specified
  • May float within the department and facility, including to sister campus Piedmont Eastside South
  • Call requirements of 12-15 days per month plus 2 weekends (Sat/Sun) and late stay as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiac cath lab with required scrub experience in heart caths and devices
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification required
  • RCIS, RCES, or ARRT CV certification required
  • ARRT R certification preferred
  • CCI RCES or CCI RCIS preferred
  • Experience with GE Discovery, IABP, Impella, and CSI equipment required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Skilled in EKG lead placement, rhythm interpretation, and sinus node rhythm recognition
  • Pacemaker experience preferred
  • Proficient in obtaining patient vitals
  • Experience with cardiac stent placement, hemodynamic monitoring, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, PCI, PTCA, and right heart catheterization
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Professional license required if applicable and must be active at time of consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include accurate patient monitoring, EKG lead placement, room circulating, and maintaining a sterile field while scrubbing procedures
  • Works within a structured cardiac cath lab team supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
  • Scrubs provided by facility
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Returning employees or travelers must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before reapplying as a traveler
