Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of experience in cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures for a community hospital setting.

Details

  • Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab setting with diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath procedures
  • Inpatient and outpatient patient population
  • 5x8 hour day shifts starting at 7:00 AM, with one late start day per week at 8:00 AM
  • On-call requirement of one night per week plus every 4th weekend rotation
  • Participation in late shift and on-call mandate rotation, including holiday on-call as needed
  • May float to Interventional Radiology if Cath Lab case load is low
  • Charting completed in Cerner

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab / EP Technologist
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • ARRT-R certification required; ARRT Advanced Certification preferred
  • CCI RCES and CCI RCIS certifications preferred
  • Indiana state license required if applicable
  • Community hospital experience required; Trauma Level II experience required
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Skills required include hemodynamic monitoring, EKG lead placement, vascular access site prep, sterile field maintenance, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
  • Experience with STEMI response, IV starts, phlebotomy, Rotablator atherectomy, EP ablations, pacemaker implants, and coil embolization required
  • Proficiency with procedures including PCI, PTCA, left and right heart catheterization, TAVR, Watchman, cardiac mapping, and pacemaker insertion

Additional Information

  • Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, and vascular procedures
  • Responsibilities include equipment setup, room circulation, scrubbing for procedures, and maintaining sterile technique
  • Use of fluoroscopy equipment, including Philips and Siemens systems, along with PACS
  • Light blue scrubs provided
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Former employees must have a 3-year separation from the facility before returning as a traveler
  • Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted, with holiday RTO requests requiring willingness to work one of three major holidays
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Travelers must be willing to float based on facility census and staffing needs
