Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 2+ years of cath lab experience for a teaching hospital setting requiring RCIS and ARRT certification.

Details

  • Cardiac Cath Lab unit in a short-term acute care teaching hospital with 599 staffed beds
  • Patient diagnoses include chest pain, NSTEMI, STEMI, valve disease, and pulmonary hypertension
  • Procedures include left/right heart catheterization, CTO, complex PCI, peripheral and complex peripheral interventions, and carotid stenting
  • 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • Weekend shifts required, typically 1 weekend shift in a 4-week schedule
  • On-call requirement of 7-9 call shifts per month, including weekend call
  • No floating within scope required to meet facility needs
  • Cerner EMR used for charting, experience preferred

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • ARRT (R) certification required
  • RCIS certification required (CCI or ARRT-R combination accepted)
  • Active Florida or Compact RT license required at time of consideration; license required if applicable
  • Scrub and EKG skills required
  • Experience with balloon angioplasty, PCI, stents, thrombectomy, Impella insertion, left/right heart catheterization, and Rotablator required
  • Prior travel healthcare experience required
  • Community hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Must be able to work in fast-paced cath lab environment performing procedural and monitoring duties

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include accurate patient monitoring, EKG lead placement, room circulating, and maintaining sterile field as scrub
  • Performs cardiac procedures including ASD closures, cardiac stent placement, PCI, PTCA, temporary pacemaker insertion, and rotablator atherectomy
  • Performs vascular studies including carotid stenting, IVC filter placement, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and coil embolization
  • Red scrub color required
  • COVID-19 vaccination required, with medical or religious exemptions accepted
  • Must pass EKG exam prior to start (up to 3 attempts allowed)
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Local candidates are not accepted; must reside more than 100 miles from the facility
  • No RTO permitted during contract; RTO requests may be discussed directly with hiring manager during interview
  • Former permanent employees must wait at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
