Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital setting requiring 2 years of acute hospital case management experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Acute hospital Case Management/Utilization Review department
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required between like units based on facility need
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of consideration)
• 2 years of acute hospital case management experience performing care coordination and discharge planning
• Prior travel experience required, though first-time travelers may be considered with clinical manager approval
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with admission criteria, appeals and denials, benefits eligibility, care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment/DME ordering, and prior authorizations
• Knowledge of CMS guidelines, HIPAA, and The Joint Commission/Core Measure/National Safety Goals
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable setting

Additional Information

• Coordinate patient care, conduct discharge planning, and manage utilization review processes
• May float between sister facilities near the contracted site as needed
• Local candidates accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate; local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers may be considered with clinical manager approval
