American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital setting, requiring 2 years of case management experience and a CA RN license.

Details

  • Acute hospital Case Management/Utilization Review department
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • 13-week assignment
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Floating between like units required based on facility need
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required, compact license must be in hand at time of submission
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute hospital Case Management experience performing care coordination and discharge planning
  • Prior travel nursing experience required, though first-time travelers may be considered with clinical manager approval
  • Experience with admission criteria, appeals and denials, benefits eligibility, care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment/DME ordering, and prior authorizations
  • Knowledge of CMS regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and The Joint Commission/Core Measure/National Safety Goals
  • 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, may include Charge RNs/Leads
  • Full SSN and DOB required for submission

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, DME ordering, and prior authorizations
  • May involve worker's compensation case management and DRG knowledge
  • Free parking available on first day, with assignment parking provided during orientation
  • Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, at applicable local bill rate
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travelers and cannot be within 50 miles of the facility
  • Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
  • Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility, whether as permanent staff, travel contractor, or registry/per-diem
  • All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application, as post-submittal requests may not be accommodated
  • Located near multiple state and national parks, offering access to outdoor recreation
