Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN Case Manager for a day-shift hospital assignment requiring 3 years of case management experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Acute hospital Case Management/Utilization Review department
• Monday through Friday schedule with no weekend requirement
• Day shift, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of case management experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with any electronic charting system required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in care coordination, discharge planning, and utilization review
• Familiarity with InterQual Criteria and Milliman Guidelines
• Knowledge of CMS, HIPAA, ICD-10 coding, DRG, and regulatory compliance standards

Additional Information

• Assess, evaluate, and drive patient discharge plans
• Coordinate services to ensure appropriate level of patient care
• Monitor length of stay and identify barriers to discharge
• Follow Medicare regulatory guidelines including patient choice, IMM notices, and MOON forms
• Conduct admission criteria review, concurrent review, and continued stay reviews
• Handle appeals, denials, and medical necessity determinations
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within assignment period
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with no RTO requests during the month of September
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Previous Piedmont permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be separated for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers previously cancelled or deemed unable to return to a Piedmont facility must complete one assignment elsewhere before reapplying
