Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Seasonal Travel RN in the Telemetry unit, located in Kansas City, MO. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a family-like atmosphere. We are seeking dedicated RNs who are committed to providing exceptional patient care.

Unit Specifics:

• Unit Name: 4 North Cardiac Telemetry
• Number of Beds: 29
• Patient Ratios: 1:4
• Unit Staffing Description: Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and PCTs
• Type of Equipment: Alaris IV Pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, dinamap in each room, 3 Welch Allen Vital Machines, Wound Vacs, Temporary Pacemakers, Telemetry monitor, EKG Machine, Bladder Scanner, Doppler, Imobile for communication between team members
• Documentation System: Meditech

Scheduling Requirements: Must work full-time hours including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period.

Floating Policy: Contract Nurses will be floated to any area where they have demonstrated competency.

Patient Experience Requirements: Must align with our patient experience goals by treating every patient with courtesy and respect, being responsive to the call light, using patients' preferred names, making personal connections, involving the patient in bedside shift report, teaching the patient how to use the phone to call the nurse directly, and always asking if there is anything else you can do before leaving the room.

Requested Skill Set:

• Must have: Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience.
• Read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips.
• Advanced skills needed: Experience with post-cardiac procedural care (Ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 Open Heart, permanent Pacemaker placements).
• Ability to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone.
• Procedures performed on unit: IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, Chest Tube maintenance, Temporary Pacemakers, Foley insertions.

Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs. May wear black scrub pants with Navy Blue top.
