Description

American Traveler is hiring a Float Pool RN with Med/Surg Telemetry experience for a 36-hour rotating schedule requiring flexibility to float across multiple hospital units.

Details

• Float Pool position covering 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units throughout the hospital
• Units include Davenport 5, 7, 8, 9, ED, PH6/7, Pingree 4, and Overflow
• Patient population includes ED border patients, medication administration in the acute mental health unit, and transfer-ready non-vented ICU patients
• Unit census ranges from 8 to 41 beds within a 371-bed hospital
• Clinician to patient ratio up to 5:1 on days and evenings, up to 6:1 on nights
• 36-hour work week with rotating Days/Evenings and 1 to 3 Night rotations per contract
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting
• Performs telemetry monitoring, including interval measurement and strip interpretation every 4 hours
• Performs cardiac drips and reads telemetry strips
• TR Band experience required

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS certification required
• 2 years of acute care hospital experience in one location required
• 2 years of experience working as a Traveler required
• 2 years of telemetry monitoring experience preferred
• Telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, and strip interpretation skills required
• TR Band experience required
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

• Float RN will rotate across 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units based on staffing needs
• Free on-site parking available
• Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of the facility in Boston, with rate adjusted 5% below standard rate
• Uses UKG/Kronos for timekeeping
