Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ED Observation unit requiring 2+ years of ED nursing experience and current ACLS/PALS certification.

Details

• ED Observation unit with 16 dedicated observation beds for patients and holds
• Adult patient population with a census of 10-16
• Clinician to patient ratio of 4:1 or 5:1 depending on unit needs
• 36 hours per week on rotating day/evening/night shifts including every other weekend
• Shift hours are 19:00-07:30
• Floating required
• Uses Epic, Asap, and Clin Doc charting systems

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required, no conditional or pending licenses accepted
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in one location plus 2 years of travel nursing experience required
• Must be able to read telemetry strips
• Skilled in assessment, documentation, IV insertion, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point of care testing, splinting, and patient education
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive ED nursing care including critical thinking and patient education for observation patients
• Local candidates accepted if permanent residence is more than 60 miles from Boston, MA
• Candidates residing within 60 miles are considered local and subject to a reduced rate
