Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiac Telemetry unit requiring 1+ year of experience and active MI RN licensure.

Details

• Work on a 54-bed main Cardiac Telemetry unit
• Patient population includes heart failure, MI (STEMI/NSTEMI), stroke requiring cardiac monitoring, arrhythmias, and chest pain
• May take overflow medical patients as needed
• Patients are monitored via remote telemetry room and closely on the unit
• Cardiac drip management required (titration not required)
• Typical patient ratios range 1:5-6, up to 1:7 during call-ins
• 3x12 day shift schedule, 0700-1930
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required based on facility census and staffing needs
• Uses Cerner PowerChart for charting

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Telemetry nursing experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Skills in cardiac drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry monitoring required
• Experience with rapid response/code team protocols

Additional Information

• Provide direct care to cardiac and telemetry patients including monitoring, drip management, and emergency response
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted
• Candidates requesting holiday RTO must be willing to work one of the three major holidays
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed but will be accommodated when possible
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Unit is actively onboarding new travelers to help manage workload
