Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Float Cardiac Telemetry position requiring a compact or OK RN license and at least 2 years of experience.

Details

• Level I trauma center serving patients of all ages
• 28-bed cardiac telemetry unit caring for all cardiac needs including post-op care
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Unit supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs
• Night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
• 13-week assignment length
• Float required to cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments
• Required to work up to 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required if departmental need arises

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or OK) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification through AHA
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
• Implement and monitor patient care plans, and record and communicate patient condition
• Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Carry out physician and nursing orders
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Work within a team-based nursing model supported by PCTs and unit secretary
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
• Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule may apply affecting pay rate
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
