Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Float Cardiac Telemetry position at a Level I trauma center, requiring an active RN license and prior telemetry experience.

Details

  • 28-bed cardiac telemetry unit caring for all cardiac needs including post-op care
  • Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-6
  • Unit supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs
  • Level I trauma center serving patients of all ages
  • 13-week assignment with a 06:30-19:00 shift schedule
  • Float required to cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments
  • Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
  • Holiday coverage required if departmental need arises

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification (AHA required)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • Primary source license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

  • Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans, documenting and communicating patient condition as appropriate
  • Serve as a primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
  • Carry out physician and nursing orders
  • Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
  • Work collaboratively within nursing teams supported by PCTs and unit secretaries
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced, stressful environment
  • Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
  • Accepts local candidates, though a radius rule may apply that affects pay rate depending on facility location
  • First-time travelers may be considered
