Description

American Traveler is hiring a Float Cardiac Telemetry RN with a compact license and 2+ years of experience to support cardiac telemetry and med-surg units at a Level I trauma center.

Details

• 28-bed cardiac telemetry unit caring for all cardiac needs including post-op care
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-6, supported by PCTs and a healthcare unit coordinator
• Virtual sitter monitoring and monitor techs available for telemetry patients
• Level I trauma center serving patients of all ages
• Required to float to cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments
• Day shift schedule from 06:30-19:00
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required if departmental need arises
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license, OK or compact license required
• BLS certification through AHA required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start

• Implements and monitors patient care plans while recording and communicating patient condition
• Serves as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Carries out physician and nursing orders and assesses discharge planning needs
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
• Nurses work in teams supported by PCTs and a unit secretary
