Description

American Traveler is hiring a Float Cardiac Telemetry RN with 2+ years of experience for a Level I trauma center's cardiac telemetry units, requiring float coverage to med-surg departments.

Details

• 28-bed cardiac telemetry units caring for all cardiac needs including post-op care
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Unit supported by PCTs and a healthcare unit coordinator
• Virtual sitter monitoring and monitor techs available for telemetry patients
• Level I trauma center serving patients of all ages
• Night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
• Required to float to cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required if department has a need

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) required
• BLS certification from AHA required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start

• Implements and monitors patient care plans while recording and communicating patient condition
• Serves as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Carries out physician and nursing orders
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Requires strong critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Nurses work in teams supported by PCTs and a unit secretary
