Description

American Traveler is hiring a Float Cardiac Telemetry RN with at least 2 years of experience to support a Level I trauma center's cardiac telemetry and med-surg units.

Details

• 28-bed cardiac telemetry unit caring for all cardiac needs including post-op care
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Unit supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs
• Level I trauma center serving patients of all ages
• Night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
• Float requirement to cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required if departmental need arises

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact), OK or compact license required
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must provide a US Social Security Number and US home address

Additional Information

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
• Implements and monitors patient care plans, communicating patient condition as appropriate
• Coordinates care across disciplines and assists with discharge planning
• Works within a team-based nursing model supported by PCTs and unit secretaries
• Requires strong critical thinking, independent judgment, and ability to work in a stressful environment
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on distance from facility
